Software Data Architect

Salary for this opportunity is 100K plus!


–       Lead and contribute to the design and development of high performance, real-time software to process and manage global source of weather data

–       Contribute to the architecture and processing models for real-time data validation and quality analytics

–       Advance the use of high performance ETL processing solutions to improve productivity and performance of data ingestion processing

–       Design and  build historical weather information archive

–       Collaborate with meteorological leadership on advancing techniques for the analysis and statistical harvesting of raw weather information

–       Interface with global development teams on software development initiatives


–       A demonstrable passion for technology development

–       Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems required; additional training, education, or certifications are a plus

–       Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, with a proven history of operating in a full software lifecycle

–       Experience with data analysis, data modeling, and data flow design

–       Experience with data warehousing modeling and tools

–       Experience with Linux/Unix environment, including build tools, debug tools, data analysis tools, and application profiling tools

–       Distributed and multi-threaded application experience

–       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

–       Strong analytical and problem solving skills

–       Strong team player with experience mentoring developers

–       Strong C/C++ skills

–       Experience with scripting languages (i.e. Python, Perl, Bash, etc)

–       Cross platform experience with Microsoft environments and Microsoft SQL Server is a plus
